Wheelchair tennis brings together players who use wheelchairs as well as adapted-sport participants (sensory, motor or intellectual) who play tennis at their own pace. Fervio helps you find a compatible partner, for free and anywhere in France.
What is wheelchair and adapted tennis?
Wheelchair and adapted tennis covers several adapted forms of the game. Wheelchair tennis is the best known: the only rule that differs from standard tennis is that the ball is allowed to bounce twice instead of once. Other practices, often grouped under the term "adapted sport," are aimed at players who are deaf, visually impaired or living with an intellectual disability. In every case, the spirit stays the same: rallying, improving and enjoying time on the court.
Indicating your practice on your profile
From your player profile, you can specify whether you are a wheelchair or adapted-tennis player. This is entirely optional: you can choose to fill it in or leave it blank, at any time. If you answer "yes," a Handisport badge appears on your public profile — handy for identifying yourself to other players who are specifically looking for a wheelchair or adapted-sport partner.

The Fervio player directory has a "Handisport" filter to show only wheelchair and adapted-tennis player profiles. Combine it with the city and FFT ranking filters to find a partner of a similar level near you.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to say I'm a wheelchair/adapted-tennis player on my profile?
No, it's entirely optional. You can leave the field blank, or come back to it at any time from your player profile.
Does wheelchair tennis follow the same rules as regular tennis?
Yes, with one exception: the ball may bounce twice before being returned, instead of once in regular tennis. The rest of the rules (scoring, court, equipment) are identical.
Does Fervio organise wheelchair/adapted tennis tournaments or competitions?
No, Fervio is a platform for connecting players, not a competition organiser. For official competition, get in touch with a club affiliated with the Fédération Française Handisport.
Is Fervio free for wheelchair/adapted tennis players?
Yes, just like for every player: creating a profile, browsing the directory, contacting players and posting a game are all entirely free, with no hidden subscription.
